The GCE-LTER has internship opportunities available most summers. Interns work with GCE faculty and technicians, gaining research experience and technical skills. Most positions are in residence on Sapelo Island, Georgia, but some may be in Athens, Georgia or other locations. All interns will be paid a stipend equivalent to $14/hr. We typically start reviewing applications in February of each year.
Some opportunities are limited to students who have not yet graduated; others are unrestricted. Most internships last ~8 weeks between May and August; however, start and end dates are flexible based on the schedule of the intern and supervisor. Please read the position descriptions carefully as some positions have different requirements, dates, and/or locations.
